The second day of the Ayr Gold Cup Festival has a handful of Listed events for punters to sink their teeth into, starting with the five-furlong Harry Roseberry Stakes.

PROJECT DANTE looks to be the likely favourite, with the Showcasing colt carries some interesting form over the minimum distance.

The two-year-old struck on debut at York, before finishing a respectable third in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot back in June.

Bryan Smart’s recruit did too much in the early stages on her first start over six furlongs at Newmarket and looks a threat after being dropped back down to five furlongs.

VINTAGE CLARETS aims to land some black type for his connections, after featuring in several Grouped contests this season for Richard Fahey.

The Ardad colt made a fine start to his racing career, with two successes in his first three starts before placing at 25/1 in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot.

The two-year-old has slipped out of form in his recent outings, but he could bounce back at the first time of asking in this contest.

GEOCENTRIC is dropped back down to five furlongs after running a cracker at big odds to finish second in the Group 3 Round Tower Stakes at the Curragh.

Ger Lyons’ filly has been consistent on her first three starts, winning once over the minimum distance and placing twice over six furlongs.

She is still relatively unexposed over this trip and she may well have more to offer at this level.

CANONIZED aims to bounce back to form after two fair efforts at Newbury and Longchamp for William Haggas, while Brian Meehan’s VERTIGINOUS is dropped back in trip after being cut down at the line at Haydock.

MITBAAHY is given another crack at some black type after running out of steam late on at York for Roger Varian and ERNEST RUTHERFORD will need to prove himself on quicker ground for Michael O’Callaghan.

Kevin Ryan’s PEGGY SIOUX is launched up in class after comfortably winning on debut at Hamilton and she is joined by stablemate LADY AYRESOME.

Keith Dalgleish has a pair of runners entered into the contest, with ETERNAL HALO and EDWARD CORNELIUS representing the South Lanarkshire trainer.

Karl Burke’s FAST RESPONSE and Richard Spencer’s UNFINISHEDSYMPATHY complete the line-up.
