Morando couldn’t do the business in the Ormonde Stakes on Thursday but perhaps Aidan O’Brien’s Armory can keep this week’s good form going.

The son of Galileo was last seen finishing second in the Group 1 Cox Plate at Moonee Valley, chasing home former stable-mate Sir Dragonet.

He enjoyed a fairly fruitful season, winning the Royal Whip Stakes at the Curragh before finishing third behind Magical and Ghaiyyath in the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown.

Given he was only a three-year-old, that is solid form and he looks like a high-class horse running in a contest against some potentially vulnerable sorts.

Sangarius won the Hampton Court at Royal Ascot in June 2019 but has only had two runs since, while Bangkok’s best form tends to come on the all-weather as opposed to turf.
