It’s nearly day one of the Epsom Derby Festival!

4,000 racegoers will descend onto the Downs on Friday afternoon as crowds return for the third Classic of the season, following on from last season’s behind-closed-doors event.

Epsom hosts 14 contests across its two-day Derby Festival

Here’s an in-depth look into Friday’s Lucky 15…

Reece’s Picks [+£51.40 profit from £1 bets on Flat each-way tips]

OSCULA: 2:00pm Cazoo Woodcote EBF Stakes – George Boughey’s are operating at a flying 33% win-rate at the moment and his Brighton winner gets a valuable fillies’ allowance here. This doesn’t look a vintage renewal for all that there are plenty of former winners and she has some big field experience that will count for plenty.

Can Tom Marquand secure an Epsom Derby Festival winner this Friday?

IRISH ADRIMAL: 2:35pm Coral ‘Beaten By A Length’ Free Bet Handicap – The French Navy four-year-old has proved a decent acquisition to the William Haggas yard from Ireland and rewarded his new representatives on yard debut at Wolverhampton in April. He finished third in a Listed event at Leopardstown back in October and is still very lightly raced given his age, so looks unlikely to be overexerted just 1lbs higher from his York third last time out.

Dom’s Picks [+£3.87 profit from £1 stakes on Flat NAP tips]

VICTORY CHIME: 3:45pm Cazoo Handicap – Ralph Beckett’s charge can maintain the solid Spring Meeting form of City And Suburban Handicap winners claiming success at the Epsom Derby Festival. The last two winners of the race have secured success on the Downs in June and the Campanoligist gelding duly secured the contest two months ago. That was his second course-and-distance victory and he surely has a huge chance back at his favourite track, even up 4lbs from his April glory.

LEGAL ATTACK: 5:10pm Play Coral ‘Racing-Super-Series’ For Free Surrey Stakes (Listed) – Simon & Ed Crisford’s colt has only had one run at the seven-furlong trip and that was in a hot renewal which included the subsequent 2,000 Guineas fourth. He ran a cracker at Goodwood next time when narrowly denied but was convincingly clear of third and a step back down in trip looks far from an issue on form. A couple of these shorter in the market have some questions to answer and he could provide a nice value selection here under James Doyle.
