Race action returns to Epsom Downs on Thursday afternoon in what promises to be another fascinating day of racing in both codes.
Six contests take place at the Surrey track as the eyes of the racing world flicker between the Home of the Derby and the Galway Festival.
We’ve selected our three value selections for this week’s card on the Downs and you can sink your teeth into them here…
FORESEE | 6:35pm Rosalind Smith Handicap
Tony Carroll’s former course-and-distance winner ran a cracker here earlier this month when chasing home a well-backed favourite to pick up the silver medal.
That winner has gone in again since so the form reads well for the Sea The Stars gelding who remains off an unchanged mark.
Mollie Phillips claims 7lb off her mount and as a general 6-1 shot, he looks a solid each-way contender and could be a tad overpriced by bookmakers given his track history.
SAYIFYOUWILL | 7:35pm British EBF Fifinella Fillies’ Handicap
Only 4lb higher than her last winning mark back in June, Amanda Perrett’s sole runner on the card returns to the turf with a bit of a point to prove.
Although her better form arrives on the all-weather, she has ran some decent outings in this sphere, including a sixth in the Tattersalls October Auction Stakes at Newmarket as a two-year-old.
She carries plenty of experience and seven furlongs looks about her optimum trip, so 9-1 is tempting enough to suggest she can have a say near the finish.
CURTIZ | 8:35pm Jem Robinson Handicap
A drop back to the mile trip looks like it should suit Hughie Morrison’s Stimulation gelding who has been given 2lb in leeway by the handicapper since his Chester fifth last time out.
He won his last start over this trip off the same mark and it’s interesting that his handler only has one runner on the card in the finale.
Pilot Charlie Bennett has enjoyed some success in the saddle of late and he knows this horse well, priced at a tasty 17/2 at the time of writing.
