Epsom Derby Dates

The Epsom Derby Festival is a two-day flat race meeting, with Day Two, Derby Day, falling on the first Saturday of June every year, featuring the richest race in British horse racing – The Derby Stakes Flat Race.

The Epsom Derby Festival is made up of two individually named days, Oaks Day, which features The Epsom Oaks Stakes Flat Race and Derby Day, which as you’d expect, features The Epsom Derby Stakes Flat Race.

The next edition of The Epsom Derby Festival is scheduled to take place on Friday the 4th and Saturday the 5th of June 2021.

Day One – Oaks Day – Friday the 4th of June 2021

Epsom Oaks Day will be the first day of The Epsom Derby Festival on Friday the 4th of June 2021. Oaks Day presents a seven-race card including The Cazoo Oaks Stakes at 16:30.

14:00 – Cazoo Woodcote EBF Stakes

Exclusively open to horses aged just two years old, The Cazoo Woodcote EBF Stakes is a Class 2 European Breeders Fund conditions flat race that runs 6 furlongs and 3 yards of Epsom Downs Racecourse and serves as the opening race of Oaks Day at The Epsom Derby Festival every year.

14:35 – Ebbisham Handicap Stakes

Open to horses aged four years old and above, The Ebbisham Handicap Stakes is a Class 2 handicap flat race that runs 1 mile and 113 yards of Epsom Downs Racecourse and serves as the second race of Day One at The Epsom Derby Festival every summer.

15:10 – Coronation Cup

Horses aged four years old and above can contest The Coronation Cup on Oaks Day at The Epsom Derby Festival, which is a Group 1, Class 1 flat race that runs 1 mile, 4 furlongs and 6 yards of Epsom Downs Racecourse and serves as the third race of the day every June.

15:45 – Cazoo Handicap Stakes

Open to horses aged four years old and above, The Cazoo Handicap Stakes is a Class 2 handicap flat race that runs 1 mile, 2 furlongs and 17 yards of Epsom Downs Racecourse and serves as the fourth race of Day One at The Epsom Derby Festival every year.

Exclusively open to horses aged three years old, The Surrey Stakes Flat Race is a Class 1 flat race that runs 7 furlongs and 3 yards of Epsom Downs Racecourse and serves as the penultimate race of Oaks Day at The Epsom Derby Festival every summer.

17:40 – Cazoo Derby Festival Handicap Stakes

Open to horses aged three years old and above, The Cazoo Derby Festival Handicap Stakes is a Class 2 handicap flat race that runs 7 furlongs and 3 yards of Epsom Downs Racecourse and serves as the final race of the first day of The Epsom Derby Festival every year.

Day Two – Derby Day – Saturday the 5th of June 2021

Epsom Derby Day will be the second day of The Epsom Derby Festival on Saturday the 5th of June 2021. Derby Day presents another magnificent seven-race card and features The Derby itself at 16:30.
