The EBF Maiden Stakes Flat Race is the second race that takes place annually at Epsom Downs Racecourse for The August Afternoon Racing meeting.

Taking place on a warm Tuesday afternoon at Epsom Downs Racecourse every Summer, The August Afternoon Racing offers a seven-race card including the likes of The Nursery, The Maiden Handicap and a range of various class handicap flat races.

Up to 130,000 spectators can witness races like The EBF Maiden Stakes Flat Race live at Epsom Downs Racecourse thanks to its public access locality, with millions more watching the likes of The Epsom Derby online via streaming services and betting sites.

The EBF Maiden Stakes Flat Race is a Class 4 European Breeders Fund flat race that serves as the second race of Epsom’s August Afternoon Racing meeting every August.

Exclusively open to horses aged just two years old, The EBF Maiden Stakes Flat Race runs 1 mile and 113 yards of Epsom Downs Racecourse and featured eight runners last time out.

The most recent edition of The EBF Maiden Stakes Flat Race in 2019 offered a purse worth £7,400 which was shared between the four placing horses in the following manner:

1st place – 5/2 Gold Souk (IRE) – £4,787

2nd place – 4/1 South Coast (USA) – £1,424
