Last season’s victor SPACE BLUES (9/4) currently holds favouritism, with the five-year-old returning from a four-month break.
The son of Dubawi was relentless after the restart last season, winning all four of his starts for Charlie Appleby.
After winning the stc 1351 Turf Sprint in Saudi Arabia in February, he was disappointing in the Al Quoz Sprint at Meydan in March as he finished ninth after failing to pick up.
The Group 1 winner is joined by stablemate CREATIVE FORCE (3/1), who has made an impressive rise through the ratings this season.
The three-year-old has jumped up 25lbs since his first start this term at Newmarket back in April but he is still 6lbs off his stable companion.
After claiming success in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot, he ran respectably in the Group 1 July Cup when finishing fifth and two lengths behind Starman.
He does have a 7lbs advantage on Space Blues which could play a huge part in this contest.
SAFE VOYAGE (15/2) bounced back to winning ways in the Listed City Plate Stakes for John Quinn, while Ralph Beckett’s KINROSS (8/1) aims to continue his winning form after landing the John Of Gaunt Stakes at Haydock in May.
HAPPY POWER (12/1) has failed to fire this season for Andrew Balding and will need to show improvement after a disappointing effort in the Summer Mile Stakes and stablemate FIVETHOUSANDTOONE (40/1) lines up alongside him.
DUKE OF HAZZARD (14/1) has landed three careers successes at Goodwood for Paul & Oliver Cole and John & Thady Gosden’s FUNDAMENTAL (18/1) returns to Grouped company following a bold effort in the Bunbury Cup.
Roger Varian has two representatives in the seven-furlong contest, with KHUZAAM (20/1) and PRINCE EIJI (33/1) featuring for the Newmarket trainer.
Ballycorus Stakes winner REAL APPEAL (20/1) makes his first start on British soil in over two years for Jessica Harrington, while Richard Fahey’s TORO STRIKE (25/1) carries some decent form at Goodwood.
ESCOBAR (33/1) returns to Group company after featuring in handicaps for David O’Meara and Charles Hills’ POGO (33/1) ran well to finish fifth in the Queen Anne Stakes at odds of 66/1.
