Eight runners are declared in the one-mile contest on the fourth day of Glorious Goodwood
The Bonhams Thoroughbred Stakes is the first of three Group races at Glorious Goodwood, with eight runners lining up in the one-mile contest at the West Sussex track.
BAAEED (4/6) is yet to taste defeat for William Haggas, with the three-year-old dominating on his first three starts.
The Sea The Stars colt claimed some black type at Newmarket three weeks ago, after storming home to win by four lengths in the Listed Sir Henry Cecil Stakes.
The softer ground poses no threat to him and it will take a big performance to beat him over this distance.
EL DRAMA (13/2) has featured in Group 1 company on his last two starts and he should appreciate the drop back down in class here.
Roger Varian’s recruit has featured over 1m2f for the majority of the season and has claimed success in the Listed Dee Stakes at Chester back in May.
The Lope De Vega colt could return to form over this trip and he is one to watch out for in this contest.
KHARTOUM (11/1) will appreciate some cut in the ground for Aidan O’Brien, while Richard Fahey’s RHYTHM MASTER (11/1) ran well to take fourth in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot at the price of 40/1.
TASMAN BAY (12/1) is dropped down in trip after two respectful efforts at 1m2f and 1m4f for Sir Mark Todd and Marcus Tregoning’s PEROTTO (16/1) makes his first start in Group company in almost a year.
TACTICAL (16/1) is stepped up to a mile for the first time for Andrew Balding, while George Baker’s PASSIONOVA (40/1) looks massively unexposed after only three career starts.
