 Royal Pippen – 2.30 Roscommon (18/1 – Betfair + BetVictor)

The Knockcroghery Handicap holds the day’s each-way bet, with a four-year-old from Stevie Donohoe’s yard hinting some value at Roscommon.

Royal Pippen did struggle on his first two starts this season, but he showed some promise when making headway in the closing stages to snatch sixth in a 1m handicap at Limerick just under three weeks ago.

Could Royal Pippen record success at Roscommon for Stevie Donohoe?

The gelding’s only success came on heavy ground in October over this distance, which resulted in the handicapper hiking him up by a whopping 18lbs.

He has made a slow decline in the ratings and after his last performance, he could be at a workable mark here and holds a decent low draw advantage.

With a starting price of 18/1, Royal Pippen could prove to be each-way value in this contest.
