Newbury: SOCIOLOGIST | 6:30pm Bridget Handicap | Dom’s Picks
After Windsor’s abandonment, racing in Berkshire does take centre-stage once again in the aftermath of Royal Ascot and it’s the turn of Newbury to showcase an evening of flat racing.
Showing some strong form in slow ground previously, Scott Dixon’s Sociologist tends to perform better over the mile-and-a-half trip and finished a good second at Ripon last time out.
That winner went in again since so the son of Society Rock is surely a live contender here off an unchanged mark with Jonathan Fisher claiming 5lb.
Although the winners have been dry, his handler has rattled the crossbar aplenty in recent memory, with three of his last 13 runners picking up the silver medal.
His career stats of four wins from 42 outings are perhaps against him a tad, but the trip and conditions look to be up his street here and he can take the spoils on Tuesday evening off a workable rating.
