Duel flat champion jockey Oisin Murphy picked up three winners at Epsom Downs’s two-day Bank Holiday card as he pulled 17 victories clear of second-placed William Buick.

Murphy’s sole victory on Tuesday was for the Andrew Balding-trained Hey Teacher, while fan-favourite rider Hollie Doyle claimed a winner aboard Arenas Del Tiempo as a remarkable eight favourites from the 14 contests passed the post first.

Derby winner chief Charlie Appleby celebrated a worthwhile trip to Surrey as New Mission shed his maiden tag on the Downs, while Recon Mission enjoyed a second-course win at the track.

Training duo William Muir and Chris Grassick also enjoyed a 100% strike-rate at the meeting, with their only two runners Firepower and Goldnay Gold both recording wins.
