Spycatcher – 3.20 Ascot (18/1 – William Hill)
A game winner on his last start, Spycatcher could continue to show improvement here as he makes the step back up into Grouped company in the Pavilion Stakes at Ascot.
Karl Burke’s three-year-old was caught in the final strides by Gear Up in the Group 3 Acomb Stakes last season before running too free in the Listed Flying Scotsman Stakes at Doncaster, finishing eighth.
He made no mistake on his return at Pontefract three weeks ago, showing off a decent turn of foot late on to win by two lengths.
The colt will need to show further improvement if he is to be involved in this hotter contest, but he has shown some ability on his previous starts.
At 18/1, Spycatcher could prove to be cracking each-way value in this contest at Ascot.
