Mark Johnston Newbury
Rochester House – 2.15 Newbury (16/1 @ William Hill)

A four-time handicap winner, Rochester House could be potential each-way value in the Compton Beauchamp Estates Ltd Silver Bar Handicap at Newbury.

Mark Johnston’s gelding has been stepped up in class here, but he finished second in a Class 2 handicap at Glorious Goodwood last year at a mark of 92.

He is 2lb higher here, but the five-year-old has seen three of his wins in handicap come on turf and will be fresh after a two and a half month break.

The son of Galileo has proven his staying ability over the last few seasons and he could well produce a big effort on his return to action.

At 16/1, Rochester House could well prove to be great each-way value for this contest at Newbury.
