After hinting at some promise on her rules debut at Beverley last season, Ella Jo returns to racing action as she makes her first start on the all-weather surface at Wolverhampton.

The three-year-old ran a creditable fifth in a 5f Fillies’ Novices Stakes last August and her run suggested she may relish a bit of extra distance.

Karl Burke will be hoping to see Ella Jo land victory on her return to racing at Wolverhampton

Her sire (Camacho) was a useful sprinter as a three-year-old and she is closely related to Ladykin, who won over this distance of six furlongs.

She will be fresh for this contest after nine months away from the track and Karl Burke’s filly could signal further progress here.

With a price of 6/1, Ella Jo could push for the places at least in this contest.
