The first day of the Coral-Eclipse Festival gets underway on Friday, with the Dragon Stakes kicking off the action on the six-race card at Sandown.
KABOO (5/2) sits at the top of the market for the contest, after showing some ability at Royal Ascot earlier in the month for Karl Burke.
The colt finished sixth on his debut in the Windsor Castle Stakes and he could well improve from that run.
The two-year-old is related to several sprint winners and could well be one to watch out for in this contest.
Clive Cox’s INSTINCTIVE MOVE (3/1) could be the main danger to the favourite, after clearing away impressively on his debut at Bath in May.
The son of Showcasing looked in trouble in the early stages but he gamely responded when he was shaken up by Adam Kirby, pushing into the lead in the final furlong to win by two and a quarter lengths.
He should come on further for that success and may well be worth taking a chance on in this contest at Sandown.
MOJOMAKER (6/1) demolished his rivals over C&D when winning by six lengths three weeks ago for David Loughnane, while Tom Dascombe’s DEVIOUS ANGEL (8/1) returned to Listed company after a heavy defeat in the Marygate Fillies’ Stakes.
NAVELLO (8/1) carries some Group 2 experience after running in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot for George Boughey and Edward Bethell’s FEARBY (10/1) could show further progress after claiming a maiden success at Wetherby.
Robert Cowell’s LITTLE EARL (10/1) could have more to offer after finishing second in the Listed National Stakes at Sandown a month ago while CHOUX (20/1) will need to show some signs of improvement after struggling on his last two starts for David Evans.
