The second day of the York Ebor Festival gets underway on Thursday, with an action-packed card on offer to punters.
Racing gets underway with the Group 2 Lowther Stakes at 1:50 and concludes 5:20 with a 7f Fillies’ Handicap.
Our team have hunted through the card in the hope of tracking down some value across the contests.
Here are three value picks to consider for day two of the York Ebor Festival.
DESERT ANGEL – 4:10 YORK (20/1 – Various)
Under the guidance of Richard Hannon, Desert Angel could produce a big effort in the 7f Nursery Handicap.
The Dark Angel colt has been fairly consistent over seven furlongs, finishing in the top three on all three of his starts over the trip.
He will need to step up in tougher company, but the two-year-old could well be in the mix with a 20/1 price tag.
PENNYMOOR – 4:45 YORK (8/1 – Various)
A well-bred filly from John & Thady Gosden’s yard, Pennymoor could continue her rapid rise with success in the Listed Sir Henry Cecil Stakes.
The three-year-old made her debut in June and showed rapid improvement when breaking her maiden at Kempton last month over 1m4f.
She has plenty to find on ratings, but the unexposed sort could well strike at the decent price of 8/1.
AGINCOURT – 5:20 YORK (14/1 – bet365)
Carrying top weight in the 7f Handicap, Agincourt could produce a bold effort for David O’Meara on the Knavesmire.
The six-year-old has been running in Group contests for the last two seasons and returns to handicaps after a few struggling performances.
She is a C&D winner however, and she could well be each-way value here at the price of 14/1.
