Three Group contests are scheduled on the Knavesmire on Friday, with the Gimcrack Stakes starting at 3:00.
LUSAIL (5/2) was a game winner in the July Stakes last month and the colt could strike once again here.
Richard Hannon’s colt has claimed success in three of his four career starts, with the two-year-old landing some black type at the first opportunity at Newmarket.
He broke his maiden over C&D back in May and he could well claim another success on the Knavesmire for his connections.
BERKSHIRE SHADOW (7/2) should relish the return to six furlongs for Andrew Balding, after being held by Angel Bleu in the Vintage Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.
The Dark Angel colt burst onto the scene at Royal Ascot, impressing with a late surge to win by a length and a quarter in the Coventry Stakes.
He could well bounce back to form at the shorter distance here and is one to consider siding with.
FEARBY (6/1) will prefer the quicker ground on offer at York, after finishing second in the Molecomb Stakes last month.
The Havana Gold colt thundered home in the Listed Dragon Stakes at Sandown and he is an interesting contender on his first start over six furlongs for Edward Bethell.
VINTAGE CLARETS (8/1) ran a cracker in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot in June for Richard Fahey while Roger Fell’s ELDRICKJONES (14/1) is dropped back down to six furlongs after a poor effort in the Vintage Stakes at Goodwood.
ORAZIO (14/1) could well have more to offer on only his third start for Charles Hills and Kevin Ryan’s GIS A SUB (20/1) is given another chance after finishing sixth in the Richmond Stakes.
TWILIGHT JET (25/1) has some useful experience under his belt for Michael O’Callaghan, while Karl Burke’s LAST CRUSADER (28/1) is given his first chance to land some black type.
Gis A Sub’s stablemate SPLITTING FEATHER (33/1) and Ed Walker’s AMERICAN STAR (40/1) complete the line-up.
